  • Things to do:

    Rizal Boulevard Baywalk 

    Dumaguete City’s top tourist attraction where you can enjoy a breezy walk or a satisfying food crawl with all the restaurants and eateries surrounding the boulevard. There’s also plenty of bars if you’re craving for a night of fun and entertainment.


    St. Catherine of Alexandria Church, Tower & Belfry 

    Known also as the Dumaguete Cathedral, it was initially built in 1574 and considered as the oldest stone church in the province. This famous city landmark also has an accessible tower and belfry along with a grotto of the Virgin Mary.


    Rizal Park of Dumaguete  

    Located only a few minutes from Rizal Boulevard by foot, this central plaza is testament to the city’s Spanish-era town heritage.


    Explore Silliman University  

    Established in 1901, Silliman University is the first American School in the Philippines and Asia. It houses one of Asia’s biggest libraries and an anthropology museum that’s definitely worth a visit. Strolling the beautiful school grounds is also a great way to pass the time.


    Dumaguete Tourism Center  

    This provincial tourism office provides all the information you need to explore Dumaguete and nearby places of interest.

    Sans Rival Bistro 

    With branches on Rizal Boulevard and one inside my resort, this popular diner offers Filipino delicacies as well as American and Spanish-inspired dishes. Sans Rival Bake Shop also provides an excellent selection of cakes and pastries headlined by their signature silvanas for you to enjoy and bring home to loved ones.


    Jo’s Chicken Inato 

    Known for its flavorful charcoal chicken, this open-air restaurant is a food lover's favorite and popular with tourists and locals alike. They also serve seafood and Filipino desserts.


    Hayahay Treehouse Bar

    This resto-bar on Flores Avenue offers Filipino and International cuisine as well as a variety of seafood and vegan/vegetarian-friendly options. It’s also popular as a night-time destination for its drinks and live music and a beautiful view deck overlooking the sea


    Gabby’s Bistro 

    A place for family and friends where the quirky and colorful designs make eating out more enjoyable. This bistro-slash-café is known for its homey ambiance and Filipino and American breakfast platters.


    Mamia Café & Restaurant

    A neighborhood café serving coffee, continental dishes and all-day breakfasts located at the corner of San Jose and Catalina Streets. They also offer a lunch menu and an excellent selection of desserts.


    Lantaw Native Restaurant 

    Lantaw is a Filipino restaurant offering traditional favorites from around the country.  This popular food destination is known for its beautiful native interiors and serves lunch and dinner.


    Moon Café 

    An al fresco dining experience located at Robinson’s Mall Dumaguete, this restaurant offers a wide variety of Mexican-inspired food, with appetizers like nachos and tacos.


    2-story Kitchen 

    A quaint dining spot offering Asian food and coffee, they serve lunch and dinner with vegetarian-friendly selections.


    FinBar 

    Considered as the #1 brew up in Dauin, enjoy drinks and cocktails in this restobar while relaxing in a warm, social atmosphere. They also serve coffee, pizza, international cuisine, and vegetarian-friendly options.

  • Sightseeing:

    Dumaguete City Tour 

    Explore Dumaguete City, also known as “University Town,” by going on a day-tour of its most famous landmarks. Start with Dumaguete Cathedral, visit the Belfry tower, proceed on to Rizal Park and finish by taking a stroll along Rizal Boulevard Baywalk. You can also drop by Silliman University to explore the school grounds, visit the school museum or library then end the tour with a nice meal in any of the restaurants dotting the boulevard.


    Pulang-Bato & Casaroro Falls in Valencia 

    Two of the most popular tourist spots because of its proximity to Dumaguete, Pulang-Bato (red-rock) is one of the so-called Twin Falls, that’s made up of 2 cascades coming from different sources. One is a clear flow with a narrow drop and the Pulang-Bato cascades on a rock wall with Sulphur deposits making it appear red or orange. Casaroro Falls, on the other hand, is a scenic waterfall site famous for swimming and picnics.


    Apo Island Marine Sanctuary

    This island is a famous marine sanctuary offering snorkeling activities and a once-in-a-lifetime encounter with turtles and marine species.


    Balinsasayao Twin Lakes

    A natural park  surrounding Lake Balinsasayao and Lake Danao in the province of Negros Oriental, it is 14.5 kilometers west of Dumaguete. These twin freshwater lakes are surrounded by mountains teeming with exotic plant life and is perfect for serenity and relaxation.


    Siquijor Island Tour

    Siquijor is an enchanting island filled with beautiful beaches, stunning nature and exciting stories of magic and witchcraft- making it an enticing side trip while visiting Dumaguete.


    Oslob Whale Watching

    Located at the southern tip of mainland Cebu, you can experience this popular activity by catching a ferry from Dumaguete then a 30-minute land journey to enter the town of Oslob.


    Dolphin Watching at Bais 

    The best way to experience dolphins is to see them in their natural habitat. Experience these lovely and intelligent creatures off of the town of Bais, more than an hour’s drive away from Dumaguete City.


    Manjuyod Sand Bar 

    Also sometimes referred to as the “Maldives of the Philippines”, this famous sand bar can be reached by a 20-minute boat ride from the town of Bais, north of Dumaguete.

    Balinsasayao Twin Lakes

    Siquijor is an enchanting island filled with beautiful beaches, stunning nature, and exciting stories of magic and unique healing arts - making it an enticing side trip while Dumaguete.


    Oslob Whale Watching 

    Located on a quaint town at the southern tip of mainland Cebu, you can reach this popular activity by catching a

    ferry at the Tañon strait from Dumaguete and a 30-minute land journey to enter the town of Oslob.


    Sidlakan Village 

    This village serves as a one-stop-shop for Negros Oriental's most beautiful arts, crafts, souvenir items, and delicacies.


    Lake Balanan 

    Located in the town of Siaton approximately 2 hours away from Dumaguete, Lake Balanan is a freshwater lake nestled in forested mountains and  an excellent destination for nature lovers.


    Tambobo Bay 

    Around an hour away from Dumaguete City is this quiet fishing village, which is a sheltered bay featuring a pier, a few spots of white sand beaches, and is perfect for those looking for calm and relaxation away from touristy places.

  • How to Get Here:

    The Henry Resort Dumaguete is just 15 minutes away from the Dumaguete Airport (also known as Sibulan Airport), 10 minutes away from The Port of Dumaguete, and 30 minutes away from Dauin. It truly is a perfect jump-off point for various activities Negros Oriental has to offer.
